Official - Westfield London the Filming Location

WESTFIELD LONDON WELCOMES HOLLYWOOD

TO LONDON!

Westfield London has today announced the exciting news to the film industry that leading location agency Unitbase.co.uk has been appointed by the shopping centre to manage all filming and photography taking place at the West London site.

Since opening to the public in late 2008, Westfield London has been inundated with enquiries for filming at the dynamic venue, but with Unitbase.co.uk now representing the centre on an exclusive basis, all filming applications can be considered with immediate effect. By allowing filming to take place, producers can take advantage of shooting a range of outstanding architectural locations in the 150,000 square meter site. These include The Atrium, The Village a high end shopping area within the centre, the Southern Terrace, an outdoor piazza area and a sprawling underground car park.

Westfield's National Commercialisation Manager, Chris Lynham said "Westfield London is excited by the prospect of working with Unitbase.co.uk who has a fantastic track record of dealing with the high profile shoots at commercial properties. We were particularly impressed by what they have achieved for other shopping centre owners like Hammerson Plc and SEGRO so are delighted to appoint them as our location agents."

Piers Read, Managing Director of Unitbase.co.uk is equally thrilled by the arrangement stating "Westfield London is a truly unique film location and one we are delighted to represent. The early feedback we've had is that the industry cannot wait to film here! I'm positive it won't be long before we see an amazing James Bond action sequence shot here."

Unitbase.co.uk has a long history in managing public spaces, both within the M25 and nationally, also represents British Waterways and National Car Parks (NCP) as well as commercial property portfolios belonging to VSM Estates, Land Securities and Hammerson PLC. Westfield London Features in it's First Film

We have all seen and heard about the fantastic London landmark, Westfield London. It has been covered in our newspapers and featured on national radio and television shows. It has also been used in two high profile commercials, however it is now about to hit the big screen and will be featured in a new UK feature Film “4.3.2.1” written and directed by Noel Clarke from KiDULTHOOD and AdULTHOOD fame.

The film is an action adventure produced in collaboration with NBC Universal, featuring 4 girls over 3 days, in 2 cities, each with 1 chance to change their lives dramatically and forever! The film will be shot throughout London and New York as well as at the world famous Pinewood Studios.

Westfield London is where the film begins and it is where the four girls are all together for the first time. The director being from West London himself, really wanted the iconic London location to be included knowing that such a stunning architectural building will look amazing on the big screen!

The filming took place over three days in various locations throughout the centre, with thanks to Westfield London and their exclusive filming agents Unitbase.co.uk Ltd, this was able to happen, all within the centre’s opening hours. The final day of filming was the real test, with 100 extras on site populating the mall areas, along with ordinary members of the public allowed to be involved, careful liaison was needed between Westfield, Unitbase and the production team, to make sure all the action was controlled and carried out safely!

This is only the beginning for Westfield London, interest in filming at the shopping centre is building, as word of mouth spreads about its usability and ease of filming again with thanks to the knowledge and expertise of Unitbase.co.uk, a leading film and television location agency based in Central London.
